Residential Support

Ottawa-Carleton Lifeskills currently has seven Residential Program locations, which are located in the West and South Ends of Ottawa. Each program location is supported and overseen by a Supervisor who is responsible for regular review and attendance to the homes ensuring client care, well being, safety and security. They oversee staff functions, provide guidance, direction and training, and are a role model for staff and residents. Generally, most of our Residential Programs fall within one of two categories: total care/high medical needs or those requiring skill development in daily living and/or behavioural supports.

Our total care/high medical needs homes provide staffing support 24 hours/day while our other homes are staffed Monday to Friday 3pm - 9am and 24 hours on the weekends. The residents from these homes either attend Day Programs or work.

Activities within our Residential Programs are very similar to what activities and routines would be found in any person's home. Staff and residents prepare meals, attend to grocery shopping, banking, laundry, general household maintenance chores, etc.
